Introduction

This document describes how to install and get started with RSS Products for osCommerce Module. This module can import/update products/categories info from rss feed file.

Features of the RSS Products for osCommerce module:

• Allow admin set multiple RSS feed URLs.
• If products not exist, it will create new products; if already exist, it will update the info.
• Allow admin manually sync the products/categories info.
• AJAX enabled separate configuration page, flexible settings for admin.
• Fully integrated into osCommerce.

Installation

What other software must be installed first?

Before you can install this product, you must obtain access to a web server with the following:

• PHP 4.x with :
• GD Library
• mCrypt
• Register Globals set to On via httpd.conf, php.ini or .htaccess
• The Apache Webserver
• MySQL database
• The Linux / Unix Operating System
• osCommerce 6.2

How do I install osCommerce : Customers Export Module?

Please follow these steps:

1. Upload the files to your catalog directory on the webserver.


2. Run below SQL in phpMyAdmin

3. Open admin/includes/languages/english.php file, before
   ?>

4. Open admin/includes/filenames.php file, before
   ?>
   add
   define('FILENAME_RSS_PRODUCTS', 'rss_products.php');


5. Open admin/includes/boxes/tools.php file, before
   ); }
   add

6. Go to admin panel, find "Tools" --> "RSS Products"
   a. Click "New Feed", add new xml feed file
   b. Click "import" image link, import data to current site
   

How can I uninstall osCommerce : RSS Products Module?

    1. Delete all files that you added

    2. Change all modified files back.

    3. Run below SQL in phpMyAdmin
    DELETE FROM configuration WHERE configuration_key = "MODULE_ADDONS_RSSPRODUCTS_STATUS";
